The 2027 Arctic Cat Prowler 800 Crew XT is the open-cab, six-seat workhorse in Arctic Cat’s full-size Crew range. The exact Tungsten U2027AGV2PUSS configuration pairs an 812cc EFI triple with two bench rows, electronic power steering, a locking rear differential, a roof and a standard 4,500 lb winch. It carries a $22,299 U.S. MSRP before freight and setup. For a crew that regularly needs both people and tools, the question is whether its 2,000 lb total capacity still leaves enough room for the intended bed load once everyone climbs aboard.

Six seats are useful only if the load math works
Arctic Cat specifies six-person bench seating with three-point belts and removable rear passenger seats. Being able to remove the rear seats gives you flexibility when the day calls for equipment rather than passengers, but it does not increase the vehicle’s published total capacity. With six adults aboard, much of that allowance may already be spoken for before tools, accessories or trailer tongue weight enter the equation. Have the expected occupants sit in both rows before purchase and check that the belts, foot space and handholds fit them. Everyone rides in a designated seat, never in the bed.
The dump box is rated for 1,000 lb and measures 40.5 x 54 x 11.5 inches. Towing is also 2,000 lb through a standard 2-inch receiver. Arctic Cat separately publishes 2,000 lb total capacity. These are overlapping ceilings, not three capacities to add together. The current manual and vehicle labels govern the combined load and allowable trailer tongue weight. A full bed plus six people should not be assumed safe simply because neither individual rating has been exceeded on its own.
The Crew XT is 158 inches long, 63 inches wide and sits on a 118.5-inch wheelbase. Those numbers make trailer fit, garage depth, gate openings and turning space practical buying checks. It also means it is not a 50-inch trail machine. Arctic Cat publishes 2,142 lb overall weight for this exact trim, but its current U.S. table does not say whether that means dry, curb or wet. We show the printed number with the basis marked unstated and do not declare it lighter or heavier than a competitor measured on a different basis.
What the 812cc triple and running gear bring
The liquid-cooled, fuel-injected three-cylinder drives Arctic Cat’s TrailBloc CVT with high, low, neutral, reverse and park. Low range is the sensible setting for slow work, towing and controlled climbs. Electronic actuation selects 2WD or 4WD; the rear differential can be locked when traction calls for it. The current specification does not claim a front diff lock. A rear unlock can be useful where tire scuffing matters, but check the owner’s instructions for when to change modes. EPS is standard on the Crew XT, a welcome feature for slow maneuvering with a long wheelbase or loaded bed.
Arctic Cat’s feature text quotes 48 lb-ft of torque, but its current configuration table gives no horsepower figure. Our catalog uses about 50 hp only as a cross-year estimate based on older Arctic Cat Prowler Pro Crew material, not as a 2027 factory rating. It may not describe this exact tune. We will not call a power winner against a rival whose current output is actually published. A dealer demonstration with the sort of grade and load you expect is more informative than treating a carried-over number as a measured result.
Double A-arms give 10 inches of front travel and 9.5 inches at the rear, with twin-tube shocks. The specification lists 12.5 inches of ground clearance and 27-inch tires on 14-inch aluminum wheels. A full-length skid plate protects the underside, and four-wheel hydraulic discs provide braking. None of that cancels the handling and stopping effects of adding five passengers or a trailer; the appropriate pace depends on terrain and actual load.
Standard equipment and the real invoice
The roof, quarter doors, premium front bumper, rear-view mirror and 4,500 lb synthetic-rope winch are listed as standard on the Tungsten Crew XT. The winch number describes its pulling rating under its own conditions; it is not permission to tow 4,500 lb behind the SxS. There is a sport gauge, dual halogen headlights with LED accents, LED brake/tail lamps, glove box and behind-seat storage. The Crew XT is an open-cab machine with quarter doors, not a sealed heater-equipped cab.
Arctic Cat’s pricing panel shows $22,299 MSRP, $1,250 freight and $500 dealer setup. Those displayed amounts sum to $24,049 before tax, title, registration or other possible charges. The final sale price is set by the dealer, so get a written out-the-door figure. The standard warranty is 12 months. A separate Fall Adventures promotion advertises a 24-month limited factory warranty for qualifying new 2027 Prowler purchases from August 1 through September 30, 2026. That short-lived offer has conditions; it is not the standing base warranty.
The 2027 Prowler 800 Crew Limited starts at $31,299 MSRP, $9,000 above this XT. Its fully enclosed cab, full doors, glass windshield with wiper/washer, rear glass, heat and G8 display serve a different kind of all-weather workday. If you need the protected cabin, price the Limited before building up an XT with accessories. If you want six seats, a roof and a winch but do not need factory enclosure, the XT avoids paying for that package.
For a cross-brand reference, the 2027 Kawasaki Ridge Crew also seats six and lists a 1,000 lb bed, but its published tow rating is 2,500 lb and its width 64 inches. Kawasaki publishes a current horsepower rating while Arctic Cat does not, so a clean power comparison is not available. Compare the exact load definitions, full dealer quotes and operator fit before treating either specification row as the answer.
The Crew XT’s strongest case is its combination of six designated seats, usable bed capacity, EPS, a roof, rear diff lock and standard winch. Its longest-running compromise is the arithmetic of a six-person load inside a 2,000 lb total capacity, along with the size and price of a full-size crew vehicle. Arctic Cat labels it for operators age 16 and older and recommends training and careful reading of the manual. Keep occupants belted and geared, stay off public roads, and use the actual vehicle labels for all loading decisions.
